VIRGIN MEDIA BUSINESS TO OFFER MOBILE HANDSETS TO SMALL BUSINESSES FOR THE FIRST TIME
28 June 2018 – Virgin Media Business is to add mobile handsets to the comprehensive range of services it provides small businesses.
- Virgin Media Business made the announcement as it looks to provide new and innovative services for small businesses. It follows the strategic investment in a five year Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement Virgin Media struck with BT last year that gave it more control of data and service offerings.
Rob Orr, Executive Director - Commercial & Marketing, Virgin Media Business, said: “This is fantastic news for our customers; leveraging the Virgin Mobile network puts us in control of defining the new mobile offerings and bundles we want to offer our customers, rather than having to accept ‘me-too’ offers for our customers.
“By challenging the status quo and providing mobile connectivity and services in a more Virgin way, we will be able to give our customers new mobile offers which respond to the rapidly changing needs of their businesses.”
From launch small business owners are being rewarded with hefty savings if they take both a Voom Fibre 350Mbps business broadband service alongside either a Samsung or Apple handset.
Customers can save £25 per month on the ultrafast Voom Fibre 3 business broadband with an Apple iPhone 8 or a Samsung S9+ with 32GB of data and unlimited calls and texts. With 99% population coverage countrywide, customers will benefit from 4G that is faster on average than Vodafone, O2 and Three. They’ll also benefit from ultrafast broadband with 5 static IPs, a 12-hour fault fix time service level agreement and access to more than 3.5 million WiFi hotspots.
Handsets will also be offered stand-alone on either 24 or 36 month contracts, with a choice of data allowances and no upfront costs.
Virgin Media Business continues to provide mobile services to its larger enterprise and public sector customers and late last year announced Business Anywhere, an innovative service allowing workers in the field to remotely connect into their corporate network using a mobile device.

Notes to Editors
In 2017, Virgin Media and BT announced a new five year Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MBVO) agreement. Under the deal, EE agreed to provide wholesale mobile network services to Virgin Media.
The deal gave Virgin Media increased flexibility to grow it's Virgin Mobile operation faster and provide new, innovative services to its customers. The full MVNO agreement, which covers voice and data services, replaced an existing MVNO wholesale agreement between the two companies and extended its exclusivity to 2021.
