Delivering innovative entrepreneurial education for all

Ultra Education was founded with the goal of enfranchising a generation of young people and giving them the tools they need to succeed in the world of entrepreneurship. In his previous role as a business consultant, Julian Hall often worked with talented business owners and entrepreneurs who were held back by self defeating mindsets, or self imposed limits on their own ambition. For Julian, the solution was clear: Build success from the ground up by empowering children and young people to achieve their full potential through entrepreneurial education.

From the outset, Julian wanted Ultra Education to have a real and lasting impact on the lives of young people they worked with, creating an entrepreneurial curriculum designed to help young people take their passion and turn it into an opportunity for success. The business started slowly, but began to pick up momentum as more schools and organisations started coming to Julian and his team for help.

Ultra Education had already been delivering resources and content digitally for around 18 months when 2020 rolled around, so the switch to becoming an entirely online presence was in many ways an extension of their existing model. Thanks to their ultrafast broadband from Virgin Media, Julian and the Ultra Education team could really lean into new digital opportunities too, creating more video content, founding a podcast and creating an app - Ask Ultra.

A digitally led model has helped Ultra Education grow their business exponentially, with the podcast, YouTube channel and Ask Ultra app reaching more young people than ever by engaging them on the platforms and technology they’re familiar with. This responsive, tech driven approach has also meant that the business has become increasingly reliant on their smartphones. From delivering workshops, hosting meetings with partners and clients, right up to collaborating with creators across the world to make their podcast, a mobile first approach brings continuity and a new level of flexibility to the way Julian and his team work.

"Having a fast, reliable connection with Virgin Media means that we can always have continuity with our work"

Julian Hall, CEO, Ultra Education

For Julian, the 5 year goal is to give Ultra Education a footprint right across the UK, reaching even more young people and working to change their lives for the better. Undoubtedly, digital technology & connections will play a key role in that ambition, especially through new innovations like the Ask Ultra app and the ever increasing amount of online video content he and his team are creating.

Running a small business with fast, reliable connectivity from Virgin Media means Julian can do what he loves every day, not to mention providing income and opportunities for his family, friends and the wider community. This underlying passion is reflected in Ultra Education too, as he and his team work to educate and empower underrepresented and disenfranchised young people right across the UK.
