Harness the power of your data network for your voice communications
SIP Trunking is an Enterprise IP Voice solution. It optimises your secure data connection – your Managed Internet Access or IP Virtual Private Network – so that you only need one connection for voice and data. SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Trunking plugs into your existing phone system, replacing your traditional voice service such as ISDN30.
Our Smart Workspace solutions encourage collaboration, support new ways of working and increase employee satisfaction for a more productive workforce.
If you’re looking for a full end-to-end voice service, where we sort you out with everything then Cloud Voice is the solution for you.

Advantages of Virgin Media Business SIP Trunking
Future-proof your business with a digital platform
BT are scheduled to switch off their Public Switched Telephony Network in 2025. By migrating your landlines to an internet-based communications system now, you can free yourself from the deadline.
Unify (and simplify) your network operations
SIP Trunking allows you to keep control of your on-premise telephony system. And by consolidating your voice and data traffic over one resilent connection, you can cut the clutter. It offers the opportunity to unify all of your traffic with a single supplier and one reliable SLA.
Increase efficiency and cut costs
Make cost savings by removing the need to install a dedicated voice circuit on each of your sites. You can run a SIP Trunk over your existing data network, regardless of how many sites this includes. This makes more of what you already have and means you won’t need to invest in a separate traditional voice service.
Manage call spikes with simple scalability
Depending on your business, there are times of the year when you might have to brace yourself from the onslaught: such as Christmas, Valentines, university clearing. With a traditional (TDM) voice service, you’d need to have additional lines sitting unused all year, just so you have them for the peak. With SIP Trunking, you use your bandwidth and can have the capacity to scale up and down, whenever you need to. To put it in context, SIP Trunking can accommodate thousands of calls, while an ISDN 30 circuit can only cope with 30 at a time.
Want call-handling functionality? You’ve got it
Our SIP Trunking solution has the basics covered, including DDI (Direct Dialling Inwards), CLI (Call Line Identity), CLIP (Caller Line Identity Presentation), CLIR (Caller Line Identity Restriction) and Presentation Numbers.
Keep your number, wherever you are
If you move business premises, there’s no need to change your phone number. And if a disaster happens, we’ll just re-route your calls to wherever they need to go. Business continuity is built-in as standard.
How does SIP Trunking work?
SIP Trunking takes your existing data connection and allows you to layer voice over the top. Your voice traffic is prioritised so that you shouldn’t experience a dip in phone quality if someone is trying to download a huge file.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is an open standard, effectively a common language that means that our SIP Trunking service can work with the vast majority of phone systems in the market today.
SIP Trunking plugs into your phone system to enable calls into and out of your premises. It’s just like normal phone lines, except you don’t need dedicated voice circuits to do the job for you.
