End of Life Notification - Skype for business plug-in
We need to tell you some important information which may impact your Cloud Voice service.
In line with Microsoft’s end of life programme for Skype for Business, we have been notified by our supplier that the Skype for Business plug-in for Office UC will cease to operate on 31st July 2021.
If you are using this feature, you’ll be aware that the plug-in is used to call Skype for Business contacts using the Office UC client. You will still however, be able to use Office UC to make and receive calls, but the Skype for Business plug- in will no longer work after 31st July 2021.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but as this software is provided by a third-party over which we have no control, we are unable to extend the cease date for this plug-in. All other Virgin Media Business services are unaffected by this announcement.
Alternative Option
If you’re looking for more advanced collaboration capability, or you use Microsoft Teams, we now offer Webex for Cloud Voice. This offers many benefits, and in time will replace Office UC as the default desktop and mobile softphone client we supply.
