Our point to point leased line connections (also known as Private Circuits) are just the job if you require dedicated, always-on, fixed bandwidth connectivity between two points; to transport data, internet or voice traffic. Leased lines are incredibly cost effective, particularly if you tend to exchange large volumes of traffic between your company’s sites or a valued business partner (aren’t they all?). Thanks to our massive network infrastructure, you get faster, high bandwidth leased line connections (from 2Mb to 155Mb* and upwards) at really low cost. Larger organisations can also use leased lines to create a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Speeds
Leased lines are available in a range of speeds from 2Mb to 155Mb bandwidths. All speeds can be delivered on a local or long distance basis. Naturally, our point to point leased lines are supported with a stringent Service Level Agreement (SLA), backed up with service credits for further peace of mind.
Internet connectivity
We also have an Internet leased line option. With a £13 billion network infrastructure providing high bandwidth, high reliability digital connections, across the UK, we’re leaders in leased line connectivity. We’ve also got the largest alternative IP network in the UK and so, unlike many other providers and resellers, we don't have to purchase bandwidth from a third party. What does this mean for you? It’s all in the detail
Leased lines are among the most well established digital data circuits. They’re non-switched point to point circuits between two local, regional or national sites providing dedicated capacity. These connections are dedicated paths across our network..
- Network - we usually deliver leased lines via our own Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) network, but we can also use a third party's circuits in order to access certain end user sites, where necessary. The actual traffic that’s carried between the two sites depends on the type of customer premise equipment (CPE) installed.
- Virtual Private Network (VPN) - organisations with geographically dispersed sites often use 2Mbps leased lines to provide a Virtual Private Network (VPN). These circuits are terminated on the PABX at each site and the DPNSS protocol is used to provide a feature rich network. The PABX provides management of the channels on the 2Mbps link, enabling fixed bandwidths to be allocated to specific users.
- Internet access - many organisations use Private Circuits for internet access because they provide fast and cost effective data transfer rates for high usage. When used this way, it’s necessary to define where both ends of the circuit are to terminate, i.e. your organisation's premises and the ISP. See Managed Internet Access for more details.
