It’s all happening…
Our VOOM 2018 Entrants have tossed their entrepreneurial hats into the ring for the chance to win cash prizes, free tools, pro tips and industry awards that money simply cannot buy.
The 40 businesses with the most votes in each category are heading to Manchester on Monday for the Semi-Final.
And from there, six finalists will go through to pitch to Richard Branson and his panel of business titans this Wednesday morning, for a share of £1m* in prizes. No pressure then.
Some of our partners have generously created their own awards –
major-league goodies containing everything a new business needs
to VOOM and timeless recognition of your business nous.
PayPal International Award
PayPal will provide the winner of this award processing fees on the first £100,000 of payments made by the winner’s business account, as well as exclusive one to one executive mentorship to 5 selected businesses for a period of 6 months post-competition.
Virgin Unite Impact Award
Thanks to our friends at Virgin Unite there’s a £20,000 grant on offer to a charity, business, or social enterprise that’s making a difference to people in need.
The G Award, by Grant Thornton
A stellar management team is key for any business seeking investment. Leaders with VOOM recognises outstanding leadership, and the winner will receive support to finance their growth ambitions, including 1:1 planning for finance, creation of finance-ready documentation, plus pitch coaching and much more!
The Crowdfunder award celebrates the business that has built the biggest crowd during the competition. The five businesses that crowdfund the most money during VOOM will be shortlisted and reviewed by our judging panel, with the winner being rewarded with £60,000 of extra funding and support from Crowdfunder, Crowdcube and JCDecaux.
Going the extra mile
On top of our Voom Award categories you already know about, you could be in with the chance of being recognised for having “gone the extra mile” thanks to the Sir Mo Farah Voom Award for Going the Extra Mile.
Sir Mo Farah joined the Virgin Media team as Director of Going the Extra Mile in 2017 and he, alongside other Virgin Media Business management, will be looking for the business that has shown the same dedication, determination and tenacity that have taken him to the very top of world sport.
