High Capacity Services

Point to point connectivity for high bandwidth and low latency data transfer

Turn up the volume

Into transferring high volumes of data between sites anywhere in the UK, swiftly and securely? Then our High Capacity Services let you do just that - with total peace of mind. Put simply, the service offers a point to point circuit connection utilising Wave Division Multiplexing technology (WDM) to provide very low latency, highly secure connectivity, able to support multiple applications over one connection (well, put relatively simply, anyway). And because it’s underpinned by our extensive fibre access footprint into major UK data centres and telehouses, it’s especially suited for connections into data centres.

Our High Capacity Services are fully managed and highly secure, designed to support real-time and mission-critical data with very low latency needs. Whether you need to connect two key sites to support your storage and business continuity requirements with multi-protocol support or extend your LAN environment across the UK with one or more Gigabit Ethernet links, then High Capacity Services are just the ticket for you.

Read on to see why.

Key features

  • Point to point service that’s ideally suited for applications and services that require deterministic, consistent low latency connectivity and high levels of security.
  • Supports multiple protocols to suit your requirements, including Data Storage, LAN/WAN connectivity and video transmission e.g. Digital Video Broadcast standards (DVB).
  • Full range of diversity options to suit your required ‘up-time’ needs.

Leave it to us

We offer carrier-class reliability coupled with a choice of resilience options to enable you to meet your specific ‘up-time’ requirements driven by your business-critical communication needs. High Capacity Services are fully proactively managed and maintained by us, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, leaving you to concentrate on your core business.

The product is available in two forms:

National High Capacity Services

These services are underpinned by our Next Generation national optical network, to enable the cost efficient implementation of complex high bandwidth connectivity. Available at speeds of 270mb up to 10Gb, National High Capacity Services can be deployed to suit your needs; one or more circuits can be provisioned between sites, various levels of protection can be employed and multi-protocol sub-rate services can be supported.

Dedicated High Capacity Services

These services are deployed over a dedicated fibre infrastructure, usually within a Metropolitan or Regional area. Each solution is individually designed and built to support your specific needs, ranging from complex resilient ring topologies to simple point to point links. These services can be provisioned to offer varying levels of protection in order to support mission-critical data requirements. Dedicated High Capacity Services enable secure and reliable transfer of disaster recovery and business continuity data. What’s more, its built-in scalability spreads the cost effectiveness beyond the initial deployment over a short period of time.

It’s time to increase the volume.

Features & benefits

High Capacity Services

Point to point connectivity for high bandwidth and low latency data transfer

Now, let’s point you at these great features and benefits.

Features

  • Point-to-point service - Ideally suited for applications and services requiring low latency, deterministic connectivity and high levels of security.
  • Supporting multi-protocol connectivity - to suit your customer requirements, including storage, LAN/WAN connectivity and video.
  • Supported by a stringent Service Level Agreement (SLA) - and backed by service credits. If we make a mistake, we'll put things right.
  • Extensive access - to major UK data centres, telehouses and BT exchanges.
  • Full range of diversity options - to ensure that your overall delivery schedules are met.
  • Project led service delivery - to ensure that your overall delivery schedules are met.
  • Resilience options to meet “up-time” needs - if connectivity uptime is critical to your business, then we’ve resilience options that can significantly improve your statistics and mitigate your business risk. Our standard High Capacity Services will guarantee 99.8% availability, but if you need to further reduce risk, we can deploy resilience options to take you to an incredible 99.99% annual availability. These figures are backed by a comprehensive set of service credit payment commitments.

These services are inherently scalable, and therefore support future growth requirements and we will even provide a guaranteed future upgrade price for subsequent services when you install your first service with us.

Benefits

  • Reducing your Capital outlay - the hardware and fibre infrastructure is owned and maintained by us and provided to you as a managed service with a simple, low monthly, quarterly or yearly rental charge, therefore considerably lowering your capital costs.
  • Keeping pace with technology - keeping up to date on the technology front is crucial in any business. As we retain ownership of the network equipment and infrastructure, the question of obsolescence is no longer a worry for you. Unlike a self-purchased solution, if your technology refresh necessitates changes to the equipment or infrastructure capacity, your capital expenditure is minimised.
  • Better use of your time and resource - we manage and maintain High Capacity Services for you - which means your IT people can focus on your business.
  • Security - all customer ports are physically separate, therefore High Capacity Services are incapable of being compromised through packet mis-routing.
  • Scalability - bandwidth can be adjusted as your needs change; initial deployment options will dictate the ultimate capability of the service. This allows you to set your own balance between cost versus scalability.
  • Network Management & Support - we work to a standard Service Level Agreement which forms part of our agreement with you. We’re responsible for the end to end ownership and management of your High Capacity Services which includes the maintenance, configuration and monitoring of the service and its components. We proactively monitor alarms on the network 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We’ve made high capacity highly desirable.
