A study into how communications technology is affecting work patterns and work / life balance

 

London and the south east of England have long been regarded as a barometer of social change in Britain - not just in the home, but in the workplace.

 

Commercially, the region is one of the more prosperous parts of the UK, as well as the one most readily associated with long working hours and employee stress. Yet the commuting and workload challenges that employers in the capital and surrounding counties have to endure are prompting a shift in working patterns, driven by advances in communications technology, that should help to cure many of the work/life balance pressures that exist today.
