- Deep packet inspection in which the content of communications is checked, as well as the headers.
Integrated connectivity
Managed Firewall can be deployed with our managed data network products such as Managed Internet Access and IPVPN, or implemented behind Business Broadband to meet the lower bandwidth, lower cost requirements of a home worker or small office.

Our Managed Firewall and Managed VPN services are provided using industry leading Netscreen integrated security devices. The family of integrated security devices addresses the needs of small to medium businesses, large distributed enterprises and service providers by developing purpose-built, high-performance platforms designed to perform essential security functions.
The integrated security devices provide a comprehensive set of Unified Threat Management (UTM) security features to protect against network and application level attacks while simultaneously stopping content-based attacks. It’s that clever.
UTM security features include:
- Stateful inspection firewall to perform access control and stop network level attacks
- IPS (Deep Inspection firewall) to stop application level attacks
- Best-in-class antivirus based on the Kaspersky Lab scanning engine that includes Anti-Phishing, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Adware protection to stop viruses, Trojans and other malware before they damage the network
- Anti-Spam via a partnership with Symantec to block known spammers and phishers
- Web filtering using SurfControl to block access to known malicious download sites or other inappropriate web content
