The Welsh Assembly Government’s Value Wales has selected Virgin Media Business as one of the suppliers under the Value Wales Telephony Collaborative Purchasing Agreement for Telecom Voice and Line Rental. This Agreement enables Welsh public sector organisations to reduce procurement time and save money.
Value Wales is the procurement arm of the Welsh Assembly. It acts as a catalyst for change, providing leadership, strategic direction, procurement training and best practice guidance to help organisations achieve real and sustainable improvements.
Value Wales estimates that organisations which use the telephony agreement could save between seven and twenty eight per cent of telephony costs, which would translate into £3 million in annual savings across the entire Welsh public sector. The agreement will run until December 2010, with an option to extend for a further two years
The Value Wales Telephony Collaborative Purchasing Agreement aims to provide efficiencies to the Welsh public sector and the opportunity of working with strong partners in the telecoms market.
“Through simplifying the procurement process, Value Wales Telephony Collaborative Purchasing Agreement delivers efficiency and value for money for the whole public sector,” said Brian Mitchell, public sector sales manager for Wales at Virgin Media Business. “We are already a major supplier to the Welsh public sector and our selection for this agreement demonstrates our commitment to innovation and customer service.”
Virgin Media Business has a strong involvement in public sector framework agreements. It is already accredited for Buying Solutions' Telecom Networks Framework Agreements and in other public sector procurement frameworks, including the historical NHS PASA and National Telecoms Group in higher education.
