Isaac Agnew Group, one of Ireland's leading retailers of new and used cars, is protecting its revenue by upgrading its network capacity with ntl:Telewest Business, part of the Virgin Media Group. Isaac Agnew Group processes the sale of new and used cars each day and needed to remove congestion on its network to ensure customer transactions were fully supported at all times.
With twelve car dealerships reliant on individual connections to a central hub of information, Isaac Agnew Group needed to improve the resilience and speed of its network. By replicating the data held in the central resource and storing it in a separate location, Isaac Agnew Group now has the resiliency they need should anything happen to their main site. The extra capacity added to the network has also ensured that all information requests and customer transactions are handled in a speedy manner.
“Every customer counts in these tough economic times. Delivering a seamless customer experience is an integral part of completing each sale. The upgrade has meant that we’re able to offer a superior service that distinguishes us from our competitors and underpins our future growth,” said Gary Parkinson, IT Director at Agnew Group. “The ntl:Telewest Business team delivered exactly what they said they would. If anything, they under promised and over delivered.”
ntl:Telewest Business deployed a 100 Meg Ethernet VPN circuit to connect five of the twelve dealerships. The high speed connection has improved the efficiency of data sharing amongst the group and removed the pockets of traffic congestion that occurred on the previous network. The flexible nature of the network has also made it easy to add and remove new sites to the group, providing Isaac Agnew Group with the right platform to support its future growth. Each of the five sites has been assigned 10 Mb of dedicated bandwidth to ensure optimum speeds when connecting to the network.
“Luxury items are the first things to come under scrutiny during the recession and the automotive market is no exception,” said Lee Hull, head of business markets for ntl:Telewest Business in Ireland. “The fact that Agnew Group is considering its present and future customer experience will only serve to aid its continued success as one of the largest car dealerships in Ireland.”
